New Delhi: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has launched a new digital portal, NPS Central, for subscribers of the National Pension System (NPS). The single portal brings several account-related facilities together.
Subscribers can view their account information, manage their investments and update personal details through the portal. The integrated platform is meant to reduce the need to visit multiple websites or offices.
The NPS is a central government pension scheme open to employees of the public and private sectors as well as self-employed citizens. It is widely used for retirement planning.
PFRDA said the new portal will make it easier for subscribers to access information about their NPS accounts and to carry out transactions. Subscribers can use the facilities after registering.
The step is part of a wider effort to expand digital facilities in the pensions sector. The authority urged subscribers to register and use the portal.
Bringing NPS-related information to one place is expected to save subscribers time and effort, the authority said. The NPS Central portal adds to a series of recent digital rollouts aimed at improving access to financial services for individual savers.
Through the portal, subscribers will be able to view details such as contributions, nominations and KYC. The NPS has two variants — one for government employees and one open to all. Digital facilities are expected to improve transparency in the pensions sector.
Such digital facilities help subscribers review their investments and plan for retirement more easily. PFRDA advised subscribers to register and keep their information updated. The portal is said to have a secure login and privacy features.
