Mumbai: October was the month Indian digital payments stopped being a novelty story and became the default.

UPI logged 25.47 billion transactions during the month, and the value settled in a single day crossed Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time, according to the latest ecosystem numbers.

Around it, the fintech and startup belt kept raising and reporting. Health-tech firm Clinics On Cloud closed a $12.5 million Series A round. Two Point O Capital raised $10 million led by Transition Venture Capital, with existing investor Omnivore participating.

Agritech company DeHaat reported revenue of Rs 2,715 crore for 2025-26. Travel technology firm TBO.COM Tek posted Rs 866 crore of revenue and Rs 76 crore of profit for the second quarter of FY27. Capillary Technologies reported Rs 271 crore of revenue and a Rs 22 crore profit, moving into the black. Digital lender MobiKwik booked a record quarterly profit of Rs 11.8 crore.

In payments infrastructure, Razorpay received its final licence from the International Financial Services Centres Authority, clearing the way for cross-border payment services out of GIFT City.

The Competition Commission of India approved Dutch investment group Prosus's proposal to acquire a stake in Navi, the fintech founded by Sachin Bansal.

In electric two-wheelers, TVS Motor held on to its lead in October. Ather Energy grew 3%, while Ola's sales fell 10%.

ValueQuest Investment Advisors' Tristar Fund raised more than Rs 2,100 crore for investments in advanced manufacturing.

Read together, the numbers say something simple. The small everyday payment in India now travels on UPI by habit, not by experiment, and the daily value crossing a lakh crore is the clearest measure of that shift.
