Congress to gherao Uttarakhand assembly on Oct 27, demands minister Rekha Arya's removal over ₹210-crore charge
The Uttarakhand Congress, led by state president Ganesh Godiyal, has called for a gherao of the assembly in Gairsain on October 27 over what it calls anti-people policies, and demanded the dismissal of minister Rekha Arya over a ₹210-crore corruption allegation levelled by her husband. Arya has rejected the charge as baseless.
Congress to launch Uttarakhand Nyay Yatra on October 22, BJP veteran joins party
The Uttarakhand Congress will launch its 'Nyay Yatra' on October 22 with four contingents led by senior leaders including Harish Rawat and Yashpal Arya, ahead of the 2027 assembly polls. Separately, Ram Sharan Nautiyal, father of singer Jubin Nautiyal, joined the Congress from the BJP.
