A fire swept through the Sunday market in Goa's Vasco-da-Gama late on Wednesday, destroying more than 150 shops. Nobody was injured. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited the site after midnight and promised compensation, and the South Goa collector has barred public entry within 50 metres of the market until 1 November.
