The Congress on Sunday demanded the resignation of Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh, dissolution of the Assembly and fresh elections, alleging failure to contain renewed violence. Party MP and Manipur in-charge Saptagiri Ulaka said around 300 people had been killed since May 2023 and nearly 60,000 displaced. He also alleged that armed groups hold more sophisticated weapons than the security forces.
