Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant EROs in Karnataka filed 61,059 Form-7 applications to strike names off the rolls, and none records why. Officials blame auto-generated forms. The final roll is due on October 27.
All 403 Uttar Pradesh seats now under voter-roll audit as EC orders Form 6, 7, 8 scrutiny
The Election Commission has put under mandatory scrutiny every name added, deleted or amended in Uttar Pradesh's electoral rolls through Forms 6, 7 and 8 fed by computer assistants, across all 403 assembly constituencies, after the Special Intensive Revision ended on April 10. The order follows anomalies in districts including Pilibhit and Azamgarh. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has alleged the EC refused an RTI query on the SIR software.
