Noida: Zomato founder and Eternal vice-chairman Deepinder Goyal has teased a new artificial intelligence venture called Dark.ai, which he said will sit under the Eternal umbrella.
In a post on X, Goyal wrote: "From the house of Eternal. Coming soon." Eternal runs Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure and District. What Dark will actually be, a model, a software product or a consumer service, has not been disclosed. The tease came on the same day as Eternal's September-quarter results, with an earnings call scheduled for 5 pm on Wednesday.
Goyal has been building beyond food delivery for some time. His health-tech firm, Temple Private Limited, is set to open pre-orders for its wearable, Temple, on November 1, 2026, with deliveries not expected until the end of the year. The device is expected to be priced between Rs 72,000 and Rs 1,00,000 in India.
The Dark.ai announcement lands in a busy week for Indian AI. On the same day, Noida-based startup Skyfall AI unveiled SKY-001, a model it says is built for engineering design, including computer-aided design and building information modelling. Its co-founder and CEO, Sam Pasupalak, claimed on X that SKY-001 beats leading frontier models, including GPT-6 Astra, on CAD and BIM tasks, and is far faster and cheaper. The company said a specific CAD task costs it $0.005 per sample against $0.75 for the rival.
Those figures come from Skyfall AI's own tests and have not been independently verified. Goyal's Dark.ai is at an earlier stage still: a name, a parent company and a promise. Its details, he has indicated, will emerge alongside Eternal's earnings.
