
The exclusion of commercial licensing terms from the new draft framework threatens to stall the launch of satellite broadband in India, an industry body representing firms such as OneWeb, Hughes, Nelco and Amazon wrote in a letter to the government.

The draft rules did not include commercial satellite internet services in the non-auction spectrum assignment framework, further delaying the commercial rollout of satellite internet services by Starlink, OneWeb, Jio Satellite and Amazon Leo.
