The scheme “Cash Prize to Players and Their Coaches for Winning Medals in National and International Competitions” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to recognize and honor players and their coaches from the state who have achieved remarkable success and won medals at the national and international level in the field of sports.

How to Apply
Offline
- Offline applications are invited twice a year by the Sports Directorate. Applications are accepted in the month of January for prize distribution of games held from 01 January to 30 June, and again in July for prize distribution of games held from 01 July to 31 December.
- The application form can be downloaded from the department’s website. The form must be accompanied by the following documents: the athlete’s Aadhaar card, bank account number, passport-size photograph, details of the medal won at the competition along with complete certificates, permanent residence certificate of Uttarakhand, and the coach’s qualification documents (either a one-year sports diploma or an equivalent certificate, or a six-week training certificate issued by the National Federation of the concerned sport). In addition, a declaration on a ₹10/- stamp paper must be provided, certifying that the player has been regularly trained by the coach for at least 180 days during the one year preceding the medal achievement. The coach’s Aadhaar card and bank account details must also be submitted.
- It is mandatory for medal-winning players of the National School Games to get their sports certificates verified by the School Education Department; for winners of World/All India University Competitions or Championships by the Higher Education Department/University; for winners of Khelo India, Indian Rural Sports Competitions, or National Women’s Sports Festivals by the Youth Welfare Department; and for winners of All India Police Sports Competitions or World Police/Fire Games by the Uttarakhand Police Department. After verification, the application form must be submitted to the Sports Directorate within the stipulated period along with the recommendation of the concerned department, institution, or recognized State Sports Association.
- Once the documents are examined and verified by the Sports Directorate, the prize money is released to both the player and the coach.
