Sangeet Natak Mahotsav

The "Sangeet Natak Mahotsav" is a programme organized by the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, with the objective of reviving and promoting the rich tradition of Sangeet Natak (musical plays) in the state. Participation is invited through press notes released in local newspapers. Eligible participants include all Goan institutions registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and those that have regularly renewed their registration as per the Act. The selection of participating groups is carried out by a panel of judges appointed by the Kala Academy, based on auditions and rehearsals.

Assistance available: Selected participating institutions are paid a lumpsum of ₹30,000/- plus 80% of the total sale proceeds from ticket sale of the concerned play. Besides auditorium made available free of charge with available and permissible infrastructural facilities

1. The applicant should be a Goa institution registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
2. The applicant should have valid and up-to-date registration, renewed from time to time as per the provisions of the Act.

Offline

Step 1: Collect the prescribed application form from Kala Academy, available free of charge. Fill in all required details as per the guidelines.
Step 2: Attach a photocopy of the institution’s valid registration/renewal certificate. Submit the entry form along with a refundable security deposit of ₹1,000/- to ensure staging of the selected play (duration must be between 2½ to 3 hours).
Step 3: Submit the completed application and documents within the stipulated deadline to the Member Secretary, Kala Academy Goa.

1. Prescribed application/entry form of Kala Academy.
2. Photocopy of the Registration Certificate/Renewal Certificate.
3. ₹1,000 refundable security deposit at the time of submitting the entry form.
4. The selected play should have a duration of 2½ to 3 hours.
5. Details of the Sangeet Natak, including:Name of the playwright, director, technicians and cast, along with full address and contact telephone number.
